Informations

Between 1947 and 1971, Pablo Picasso made more than 3,500 ceramics, the editions or unique works !
In August 1946, while staying in Golfe Juan with Françoise Gilot at his engraver friend Louis Fort, Picasso went to Vallauris to visit an exhibition which took place in the Nérolium, the covered market of the city. He met there the Ramié spouses who created a few years earlier a workshop in an old factory : the Madoura Pottery.
Pablo Picasso would create with the complicity of Suzanne and Georges Ramié, a ceramic work that would forever change the history of the small town of Vallauris and more widely the history of the ceramic and its usages. Since the very beginning, he seems to have wanted a broad dissemination of his works.
