THE ART OF GARDENING: 71, RUE DU FAUBOURG SAINT-HONORÉ, PARIS 8E

26 April - 26 June 2022

"Blossom by blossom, the spring begins"

Algernon Charles Swinburne

Helene Bailly Gallery, brings spring to rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, blossom by blossom, with nine astonishing artworks, by masters of landscapes and floral still lifes.
Spring, with its vivid colors and shapes, inspired numerous artists to experiment with the colors of their palette and with different mediums in order to capture the splendid rebirth of nature, after the long winter. The still lifes of Louis Valtat, Moise Kisling, Maximilien Luce, Bernard Buffet, Cuno Amiet, along with
a landscape of Alfred Sisley, will transform our exhibition spaces in a colorful field, aiming to transmit the emotion
of happiness of living, as quoted by Moise Kisling.
Still life has witnessed an interesting evolution from the bottom of the hierarchy of artistic genres to the magnificent Dutch Golden Age. In France, during the late nineteenth century, it underwent a revival since it was re-discovered by French painters as the perfect subject for the exploration of different compositions, styles, colors and shapes.
The Art of Gardening exhibition project by Helene Bailly Gallery, is a tribute to artists who made nature their muse, managing to masterfully capture the eternal mystery of its rebirth.
