Picasso et le vin: Fondation pour la culture et les civilisations du vin de Bordeaux

2022年4月15日 - 8月28日

For its 5th temporary exhibition, the Cité du Vin is honoring one of the greatest artists of the 20th century: Picasso.
The Fondation pour la culture et les civilisations du vin has invited art historian and critic Stéphane Guégan as scientific curator to imagine an ambitious, original exhibition for the general public that sheds new light on the work of Pablo Picasso. Bringing together more than sixty works, thanks in particular to the exceptional participation of the Picasso Museums of Paris and Barcelona, as well as the generosity of private collectors, the exhibition explores for the first time the place of wine and alcohol in his work, transcending creative periods, stylistic inspirations and techniques.  It is an opportunity to (re)discover the creativity of the artist who subjects his universe to infinite metamorphoses of form, meaning and material.

On the occasion of the exhibition "Picasso et le Vin", Helene Bailly Gallery will lend a ceramic by Pablo Picasso "Nature morte" (1953) to the Fondation pour la culture et les civilisations du vin in Bordeaux.
